Trisha Morgan came on 25th October 2015 with her Singing into Stillness Workshop.
Sacred singing offers a very enjoyable access to deeper levels of connection with self and others. Trisha is an experienced singer and workshop leader with a passion for sacred music, in particular Taize. No experience of formal singing was needed just a willingness to enjoy singing together.
A wonderful time was had by all and she will be returning again in the Spring. If you havent experienced Taize keep your eyes open for her next workshop you dont need to be a ‘singer’.
Karma Yoga is the Yoga of Action, the discipline of selfless service for the good of all. Here at the Yoga, Meditation & Therapy Space we've been working on several projects:
Our Yoga in Pyjamas for Children in Need raised £167.55. We will be doing it again next November so keep your eyes open, it was great fun.
John May came 13th Nov, to read some of his inspirational poetry from Black Ravens’ Poetry and brought with him some of his paintings to support reflection and discussion. All donations from this event when to Zoe's Place.
Judy his wife read some of his poems too and brought an abundance of delicious homemade biscuits with her.
If you would like to donate to the food bank but don't know where to go to give, we now provide a space where you can donate. We then deliver it to a variety of food banks in our area.
During 2015 our Monthly Kirtan and Chanting Circle has raised £ 241 .57 from donations for Zoës’ Place Baby Hospice, Middlesbrough.
We learnt to weave hats on a circular loom with wool donated from students and friends, to make hats for Christmas Shelters.
We were amazed how many people got involved and how many hats were created!
Here we can see Mike Pratt teaching one of his many ‘Wild Chi’ workshops.
Mike Pratt has been running occasional workshops on the subject of the Tao and Nature, exploring ways in which working with the natural energies of Nature can help us find our spiritual path as well as help us lead healthier lives in mind body and spirit.
We had our first Yoga Space Christmas meal at The Shanti Cafe / Bistro in The Earthbeat Centre on Monday 7th December 2015.
For some it was the first taste of a Christmas meal without meat. I think we all enjoyed ourselves, certainly the food was spectacular and the company was warm and friendly.
